To get a better understanding of what it takes to win, we interviewed three former Miss World winners – Natasha Mann from the United Kingdom, Aishwarya Rai from India, and Mpule Kwelagobe from Botswana – to get their insights and advice.
Natasha Mann, Miss World 1996, believes that the single most important quality one needs to win is a strong sense of self-belief. “You need to believe in yourself and your capabilities, and also be confident in your own skin. Don’t be afraid to stand out and be different. Be yourself, and don’t worry about trying to fit in.”
Aishwarya Rai, Miss World 1994, echoes this sentiment, stressing the importance of being comfortable in one’s own skin. “You need to focus on showcasing the best version of yourself, not just on the outward appearance, but also on the inner beauty. That’s the beauty that will shine through and help you stand out from the rest.”
Mpule Kwelagobe, Miss World 1999, also emphasizes the importance of self-confidence. “You need to be confident in yourself and your abilities, and be able to show the judges that you’re capable of tackling any challenges that come your way. It’s also important to make sure you have the right attitude and be able to handle the pressure of the competition.”
All three former winners also agree that dedication and hard work are important qualities to have if one wants to win Miss World 2023. “You need to be willing to put in the hard work and dedication, to make sure you’re well-prepared for the competition,” says Natasha. “It’s also important to be passionate about the cause you’re representing and to stay focused on achieving your goals.”
Aishwarya adds, “You also need to be able to communicate effectively and make sure you’re able to express yourself clearly and confidently.” Mpule also stresses the importance of being able to articulate one’s thoughts and opinions. “You need to be able to communicate your views in a way that is easy to understand and relate to.”
Overall, the three former Miss World winners agree that the key to winning Miss World 2023 is to believe in oneself, stay focused and be passionate about the cause one is representing. With dedication and hard work, anything is possible!
