If you’re a fan of modeling, you’ve probably heard of the USA Girl Model to Watch program.
This program, which is run by the Modeling Association of America (MAA), is designed to recognize up-and-coming young models who have the potential to make it big in the industry. Each year, a new Model to Watch is chosen, and for 2023 that model is Shelby Kent.
We sat down with Shelby to learn more about her experience as the Model to Watch and her plans for the future.
Shelby, tell us a little bit about yourself and your experience as a model.
Thank you for having me. I’m Shelby Kent and I’m a 19-year-old model from the Midwest. I’ve been modeling for a few years now and I’m thrilled to be chosen as the 2023 USA Girl Model to Watch. It’s been an incredible honor and I’m so excited for the opportunities it brings.
What do you think sets you apart from other models?
I think that my willingness to take risks and to try new things is what sets me apart from other models. I’m always looking for ways to push the boundaries and to create unique looks. I also think that my drive and determination to succeed are key factors in my success.
What are some of your goals for the future?
My main goal is to become a successful model and to make a name for myself in the industry. I want to work with some of the best designers in the world and to be featured in major campaigns. I also want to use my platform to inspire other young girls to follow their dreams.
Finally, what advice would you give to other aspiring models?
My advice would be to never give up. The modeling industry can be very competitive and it’s important to stay focused and to keep working hard. Also, don’t be afraid to take risks and to put yourself out there. You never know what opportunities may come your way.
